What first got you into music?

I was into music from the cradle! My parents love to tell the story of how they put on a recording of Handel’s Messiah and I would actually cause my cradle to rock back and forth when I was a baby. I can’t remember a time when music wasn’t an important part of my life!

Who inspired you to make music?

My family is the short answer. I was always surrounded by music growing up because everyone played and sang! When I heard Chuck Berry thought- it was on! I couldn’t get enough of it and all I wanted to do was play like Chuck, Duane Eddy, and the Ventures!

How would you describe the music that you typically create? My music is an amalgam of all the influences and experiences I’ve had in my life- good and bad!

What is your creative process like?

I usually get hit with an idea at the worst time! That’s why I always have my phone handy- that way I can record the idea and come back to it later. My best writing has happened during the tough times and it’s been a huge release for me! The song “No Title (Past and Gone)” was like that! I’d been having this dream about my family that felt so real and then when I’d wake up I realized most of them weren’t around anymore . It was really tough. Night after night! I woke up and the song was just there- after that the dreams stopped!

Who would you most like to collaborate with?I love working with my buddy Adam Montavani! He’s a fantastic musician, singer and songwriter!

If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?

Taj Mahal

What is one message you would give to your fans?

Enjoy, relax and never stop living life!

What is the most useless talent you have?

I can sleep anywhere and under any conditions! It served me well in college!

Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

Absolutely! That’s where I flesh out some of my best ideas!

Whats ON next for you?

I’m working on a new album to commemorate my Mother’s life. She just passed about 2 months ago. Other than that Adam and I are working on a project together for release next year hopefully!
