Vapid Fire With the DML Conspiracy

1. What turns you on, creatively or otherwise?

Whenever I’m playing guitar and I’m laying down some new ideas for future songs. You know, ideas are just flowing and you’re mixing and matching chords and riffs. Finding the perfect melody for the vocal line is an extreme turn on for me. Finding the right combination of lyrics and hooks is icing on the cake. My excitement lives in that place.

2. What’s a good tip for someone who wants to be you for Halloween?

Make sure you use lots of eyeliner. And you have to wear a cool hat. I love cool hats.

3. Which celebrity’s hair do you covet most?

I think Johnny Depp has amazing hair. Brad Pitt is in my top five for sure.

4. What would your death-row last meal be?

I love a good New York slice. If you’re from New York, you understand. Pizza doesn’t taste as good anywhere else. Whenever I go home to visit family, that is a top priority while I’m there.

On the flip side, whenever I’m on the road, we hit Whataburger when we get home. If you’re from Texas, you understand.

5. What’s your juiciest vice or guiltiest pleasure?

I’m not allowed to talk about this without ending up in somebody’s doghouse. I am going to plead the fifth ok this.

6. What extravagant purchase should probably make you feel guiltier?

The most expensive piece of equipment that I’ve ever purchased was a used vocal mic that I bought online from a recording studio in San Francisco. It is an amazing studio mic. It adds a lot of warmth to all of my vocal tracks. Without saying how much I paid for it, I will just say it was more expensive than my PRS and my Les Paul together. And it was a used piece. I couldn’t afford a new one without going bankrupt.

7. When’s (and why’s) the last time you wanted to slap someone?

Twice yesterday I’m sure. Lol. I hate dealing with AT&T customer service or tech support.

8. What most likely made that stain on your outfit?

If it’s red, it could be lipstick or hot wing sauce. Lol.

9. Describe your favorite undergarment.

I have a pair of KISS boxers that I consider my lucky boxers. Not because they have KISS on them, they are just extreme comfortable. And we have great shows whenever I wear them.

10. What’s a lie you’ve told more than once?

I don’t know if I’d call it a lie, but I will admit that some stories, that are based in truth, might become a little more grandiose over the course of time. Maybe a crowd of 2000 might grow and become a crowd of 5000. Or that dancer I dated when I was 22 was actually a Victoria Secrets model. Stuff like that.

BONUS: Where do you see yourself in five minutes?

Checking to see what that stain on my shirt might be. Lol.

The DML Conspiracy has echoes of not only the Beatles who inspired the sound but leaning also towards  Paul McCartney and the Wings.
